Hi there,
I’m Jenna Slutzky, founder of The Canine Enrichment Co. Long before I turned this into a business, it was my own dogs— Ichabod and Rosie—who taught me what so many dogs are missing or not getting enough of: space to move, sniff, explore, rest, and actually feel like themselves. Those two made it very clear that “good behavior” doesn’t come from more rules or commands—it comes from more grass, more choice, and more support.
I don’t believe dogs are here just to behave. I believe they’re here to feel good—in their bodies, in their environments, and in their relationships with us. And when we meet those needs, training stops being a constant uphill battle. The more I leaned into enrichment, decompression, and real-world skill building, the more I saw behavior fall into place without forcing it.
I’ve spent 16 years in the animal care world—ten of those running daycare and boarding facilities, and eight as a trainer working directly with dogs and their humans. My focus now is on puppies, adolescents, social dogs learning how to handle life outside the house, and dogs who need a break from overstimulation—not just dogs who need “fixing.”
I’m grounded in education and ethics, and my background includes:
Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP)
Family Dog Mediator
Certification in Applied Animal Behavior (University of Washington)
Fear Free Certified Professional
Pet First Aid & CPR Instructor (PetTech)
I’ve worked with aggression, reactivity, and behavior challenges over the years, but that’s not the heart of what I do anymore. My work now is about helping dogs feel better so they can live better—through enrichment, thoughtful skill-building, and support that makes sense in the real world.
If you’re looking for someone who cares more about your dog’s well-being than how many commands they know, you’re in the right place.
